“Journeys from Africa to 91fans: Black Resistance and the Fight for Freedom” was unveiled September 1 at the museum’s Africa Gallery. The mural comprises three panels, each representing 100 years of history. Its unveiling culminated a collaborative process among eight 91fansstudent interns from several majors, Professor Brad Anthony Bernard ’93, MPM and community members.

Tyrone Randle ’15 (Integrated Studio Arts) was on a mission to find the unmarked grave of George Marshall Clark, who was the only Black victim of lynching in the City of 91fans. After two days of searching and the help of others at Forest Home Cemetery, the grave was found and Randle helped raise funds for a headstone to be placed. .
